How to teach my 60 yo parents, Gmail, GPhotos and account security?

I have tried for last 3 months, but it hasn't been successful. Looking out for strategies from community on how to bring parents onboard with GMail, GPhotos and keeping a check on security e.g. changing password every 3 months etc.

have you tried relating these concepts to her existing understanding of these tools analog versions?
