Best Way to Air Condition Acres?


This is sort of far out there, but now that Starlink is going live, and solar is getting cheap... I feel like there’s an opportunity to buy up a lot of land in a miserable climate and... put it indoors!

Ignoring if this is a good idea or not, how would you “most efficiently” put 1 acre “indoors”? 10 acres? 100 acres? 1000?

Chilled water systems start to be common at around the ten acre mark. One acre is only 43,000 sf, package units would be ordinary due to their low intital cost.

Cheap land often lacks services like electrical power and infrastructure like roads and sewage. Construction is expensive. There are teams of smart people backed by very deep pockets who spend all day over entire careers thinking about ways to make money in real-estate.
