How are you using video?

With the switch to WFH over the last year a lot of people are using video a lot more than they use to. Whether it's just being on more Zoom calls, creating webinars/screen-casts or preparing more video marketing content, it seems that video is becoming a much larger part of most businesses. Personally, I've invested in converting my Sony A600 into a webcam and bought a mic and keylight, giving me a much better video appearance on calls.

Have you personally started using video differently, or has your company or business?

My day job keeps pressuring me to use video, and I keep fighting the temptation to replace my photo with a "SEELE 01 SOUND ONLY" graphic from Neon Genesis Evangelion.

My coworkers might want to see me on video, but I'm used to having an iron curtain between work and the rest of my life and I'm not comfortable with letting work intrude that far into my home. As nice as it is to be able to work from home I see no reason why I should give my coworkers a view of my basement.

Besides, I have a face made for radio and a voice made for print. I'm doing my team a favor by keeping my cam off.
