What is the non-Western equivalent to Red, Yellow, Green notifications
Red, Yellow and Green are often used as the colors in notifications, adapted from traffic signals - Red = Stop, major problem | Yellow = slow down, show caution, possible problem | Green = Go - so I'm wondering if this color scheme is now really international, or if there are any nations/cultures where the Red, Yellow, Green notification pattern are not used/ don't make sense / replaced by something else?
I think these stem from the choice of 'red' to represent danger, which is quite ancient in many cultures [1]. A link with many meanings of the colour, both positive and negative, is that blood is obviously red.
Red is in general also easy to spot against the background (under daylight conditions).

Traffic signals are pretty universal. Sometimes blue is alternated for green, but that’s pretty much it.
