Could Hacker News become a search engine?


There is a search bar by algolia at the bottom of the page, but could there be a way to directly offer hacker news with a different interface like that of a search engine - a/b test?

HN already has an index of curated articles for over 13 years... and it has better sources and vetting than Google without commercial interests.

Just curious, what will be the interest for this prototype? I care about truth without monetary influence and I am tired of ads in my search results because there is no better alternative...No, DDG does not cut it.

At this point all my searches on Google have reddit(wallstreetbet for anything financial)|hacker news|stackoverflow|wiki tacked on.

It may be hard to index all of the internet, but if someone just reduces the scope of the problem down to very particular sources, it would be good enough for me.
