Best Slow News Sources?

The slower news thread earlier today got me thinking: what are some great news sources to digest on a weekly, monthly, or even yearly basis?

I think what you want is more than just an "aggregator machine". "Aggregating humans".

What about magazines? There are also annual or bi-annual (printed) publications. And even books about certain topics that might interest you further. Maybe to "easy you into" this idea away from daily news, a subscription to something like the Economist would be useful? (but I personally enjoy even longer cycles more, weekly is too often.)

"Hystoria – a Reddit-like site where all posts must be 5+ years old" was posted here a while back: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=25361224 People there also discuss magazines like "Delayed Gratification" (mixed reviews) and Lapham's Quarterly (fans): https://www.slow-journalism.com/ ( on HN: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=22200573 )

The word you want is aggregator and here's a starting point...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/News_aggregator

Have found it's handy when the site allows you to record those feeds you want to access regularly. Foe example... https://www.dailyrotation.com/
