The impasse goes something like, programmer says "it gets done when it gets done," and agile wonk says, "I can't tell higher-ups that," programmer conjures up some mumbo jumbo to make wonk go away, agile wonk then constructs a narrative around "story points." End result: it gets done when it gets done, and agile wonk remains on payroll.
