Which Linux distro has the best UX these days?

I’m used to Ubuntu on the server and previously on a desktop, but my devices of the last 10 years has been Macs. If I’m going to install a new Linux desktop system, which distros should I try?

Elementary[0] is probably what you're looking for. I did use Kubuntu for a number of years and liked it too.

Been a Linux user for 20+ years (started on RehHat6 (not RHEL), went to slack, gentoo, ubuntu, debian and now ... Pop_OS) - PoP works great - it is Ubuntu with extra candy, some users have problems with it, I do not.

It is my primary work driver as full time netsec engineer and part time developer. PoP just works and gets out of your way (which is mostly GNOME philosophy).

Having worked in various desktop environments and window managers, PoP let's me work without too much linux admin overhead.

Besides Elementary, I think Pop!_OS https://pop.system76.com/ looks presentable too, although I've never tried it.

I used to run Xfce on an older laptop a few years ago. One thing that made me feel more at home on Linux was changing the font to Lucida Grande (the default font in OS X for a long time).

If you are looking to tinker with the UI to fine tune it to your needs a KDE desktop is great (kubuntu). And it can definitely be made (relatively quickly) to closely emulate macos UI (search for kde macos reddit)

If you are looking for a drop in replacement for macos elementary is definitely the way to go.
