I blocked YouTube with etc/hosts.Now pages with YouTube link wont load

YouTube embeds are iframes so likely it's blocking the rendering of pages. Update your hosts to point to the IP of a webserver that will instantly 404 the requests and see if that changes anything. Usually you'd want to block sites by pointing them at webservers that either always reply with an empty 200 or a 404.
