Certbot recommend snapd over apt, why?

The Devuan instructions say to use the apt packages. If you go back in time: https://web.archive.org/web/20200513114445/https://certbot.e... they used to say use apt packages. Not sure why they changed.

Installing certbot with apt on Debian 10.5 is a breeze.

I was struck back to read that the official certbot documentation actually recommends installing snapd and _not_ use the apt packages. In fact it will ask you to "Remove any Certbot OS packages".

Why on earth would they do such a thing?

Does that mean the apt packages won't do the job?

Serious question, please don't start a flamewar. We have the Ubuntu Chromium/snapd thread(s) for that.
