What do you want to build in 2021?

Marc Andreessen wrote that "it's time to build" in April 2020 [0]. I kind of disagree with many things in his piece, but I love the provocation.

What are you going to build in 2021?

Some things I want to try:

Prototype (ie. not even MVPs) some kind of note-taking, knowledge management, sharing, annotation, collaboration, versioning, distributed, notebook, blog thing. Hard to wrap my head around all the possible intersections, so maybe pick three categories and implement the intersections for the entire Venn diagram to explore affordances.

Make a programming language. Probably nothing fancy, I just haven't done it before. Maybe target WASM.

Learn a programming language. Probably Rust, but maybe Smalltalk or Lisp.

Port some JS library to Python. Maybe port a Python library to JS. Maybe port from Python or JS to whatever new language I learned.

Write some fiction. Possibly interactive.

Try to get a Handshake TLD, and do something with it.

Something with procedural generation. Maybe logos or fonts.

I want to continue building my social collaborative flashcard platform. I spent my entire summer building out the basic functionality and very low level sharing capabilities.

I still dream of a platform where whenever I want to pick up a new subject/book/idea/ideology/[thing] I can search for a flashcard deck where I can continuously learn and add new flashcards for other people to use.

I want to finish and build a lot of new features on my iOS app and finall release the Android version.
