HN Dark Mode?

Question

I was just now thinking how cool it would be if HN had a dark mode? Browsing hacker news on a 34 inch wide monitor right now. Everything else on my desktop is in dark mode, so my eyes took quite a hit :) I'm guessing for reading, black on white is proven to be more effective, but it seems my eyes are very sensitive to pure white backgrounds now.

The feature request comes up regularly. In https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=23197966 the admins are not opposed, though right now browser extensions are the best work-around.

Stylus is the plugin that I've been using. Any other suggestions?LinuxBlender has suggested DarkReader.
