How come Reddit moderators remove posts after having upvotes?
I understand if a post is not of interest to the group and lies in the zone of self-promotion, moderators need to step in and remove the post. But, why do they remove a post after having more than 50+ upvotes and the number one post of the community?

Probably because it's off-topic. Or hateful. Or otherwise incendiary. Or your fifty friends upvoted it.
Spam isn't the only reason to kill a post.
