Do Mailchimp/Drip etc. offer deliverability advantages over AWS SES?

Say I want to send a monthly marketing email and I don't care for bells and whistles like GUIs for creating pretty emails. I just want to get my marketing emails in inboxes. Do pricey email marketing platforms like Mailchimp/Drip/ConvertKit offer any advantage in that respect compared to doing it myself with something lower level like AWS SES or Sendgrid?

Do we have are any hard data on deliverability differences in 2020?

I certainly feel like these companies add technical risk. My current provider (SendInBlue) automatically adds link-tracking with redirects, but this service seems to have poor uptime, meaning the links in my emails sometimes freeze at the redirect stage, which is functionally equivalent to breaking.

Delivery advantage? I doubt. In the background, some of these tools use AWS SES/Mailgun/Sendgrid. (I know Convertkit use to use Mailgun for sending).

However, it's that they can help with handling the bulk sending properly especially with queuing and scheduling.

Re: link tracking, I believe you can always turn this off. Even for open tracking. Explore the settings and you should find where.
