Are most non-NewEgg sellers scammers?

I ordered some "in-stock" processors from NE seller Technology Galaxy that "shipped", they "lost" them and NE never credited my card.

I ordered the same "in-stock" processors from NE seller BuyVPC and they just voided the transaction without any communication after creating a shipping label. Also, no credit.

I'm out two weeks and $4000 in credit because of this.

NE seems like a platform that promotes and encourages fraud. I think I'll just have the credit card company chargeback NE due to their gross negligence and incompetence.

PS: Watch out for the boxed vs. OEM/tray processors bait-and-switch scam too. Get what you paid for (warranty) or send it back.

I wouldn’t say “most”, but it’s definitely true that a good number of third party “sellers” are in fact scammers. This isn’t a problem specific to Newegg, but online marketplaces as a whole. It’s basically come down to a game of whack-a-mole; platforms simply can’t ban these @ssholes quickly enough :/
